Happy Earth Day & a Giveaway

While everyone is starting to celebrate their long weekends with Easter festivities, it may slip a lot of peoples minds that today is not just Good Friday, but also Earth Day. For over 40 years April 22nd has been a day for environmental activists and ordinary people all around the world to come together to influence change to protect our environment and make our Earth a healthier, more sustainable place. You can read more about the history of Earth Day here.

Here at GrowMe we are committed to beautifying our Earth one greeting card at a time. We believe that a sustainable future is possible and that every one of us is responsible for ensuring that our Earth remains beautiful for future generations. This is why we urge all of you to make a pledge to do something to help keep our Earth beautiful by being a part of the Earth Day Network Billion Acts of Green

To celebrate Earth Day GrowMe is giving away 8 limited edition Earth Day postcards that grow flowers. The good news is if you are already a newsletter subscriber, a fan of GrowMe on Facebook or a follower of this blog then you are already in the draw to win one of our Earth Day postcards. The even better news is that you can get more entries to win if you do all of these things, so you can get up to three entries!

To get your three entries:

3. Follow this blog by clicking the 'follow' button in the right sidebar down the bottom.

The Giveaway will be open until midnight AEST Wednesday April 27th. International entries are welcome, but please enter by midnight Melbourne Australia time.

*Please note: due to customs restrictions for WA and TAS we are unable to send seeded products to these areas. If you live in these states or in a country where customs restrictions for seeds exist you will need to nominate someone else for us to send your prize to.*

To those of you who saw us at Selby Festival last weekend, I apologise that this giveaway was not drawn last Wednesday as promised, I have been sick so there has been a delay in getting it up here.

Good luck with the giveaway, have a lovely Earth Day today and enjoy your Easter break :)

A Busy Weekend

After doing the Upwey Grassroots Community Market a couple of weeks ago I was running low on stock and even lower on paper to print more cards on, so I got really busy last weekend and made 88 sheets of seeded paper!

This is what 88 sheets of handmade paper looks like after it has been tidied up to A4 size sheets.

The white and yellow sheets on the bottom are all flower seed paper, but I also made herb seed paper (purple and white) and salad seed paper (the yellow sheets on the top). I'm really excited to see what I can do with the new mixes. I'm looking forward to reprinting some of my existing designs on them, but also have ideas floating around for Get Well Soon cards on the herb and salad papers.

I printed some Easter cards on the salad paper already and I love how they turned out. They are meant to be a bit of a quirky alternative to giving Easter eggs and adding to the massive pile of chocolate that is consumed at this time of year. After all, real bunnies eat salad!

The Easter cards are now available in our Etsy store, and here is a sneak peak of a new design I am adding later this week. I got a lot of requests for more cards with sayings on them at the Upwey market, so this is going to be our latest addition to the range.

I am going to announce an Earth Day giveaway later this week, so make sure to keep an eye out for it.
